Professor Naila Z. Khan has joined the Bangladesh Protibondhi Foundation (BPF) as a full time Director of its Clinical Neurosciences Center (CNC) from July 2018, after being its honorary director and part time consultant since 2008. Till June 2018 she had headed the Department of Pediatric Neuroscience (DPNS), Dhaka Shishu Children’s Hospital (DSH), Bangladesh Institute of Child Health (BICH), which she had founded in 1992.

AIMS
The Clinical Neurosciences Center (CNC) is a wing of the BPF where research and related clinical work is conducted for the benefit of children with disabilities and disadvantages, their families and their communities.
Key objectives of the CNC are
Development of tools, scales and procedures
Development of tools, scales and procedures for the early recognition of neurodevelopmental delays, difficulties, impairments, disabilities and handicaps in all children ie from birth to 18 years of age.
Establishment of an evidence-base for appropriate interventions (medical, educational or psychosocial), both in the short and long term; and throughout the lifespan of the child.

Facilitation of optimum quality of life and well being of the child
Facilitation of optimum quality of life and well being of the child, child’s family, immediate environment, and the larger community
Development of expertise within professionals and para-professionals from a range of disciplines to work as a team to achieve the above objectives
